History

Founded in 1992, Freedom Technologies has been guided since its inception by Janice Obuchowski, former U.S. Assistant Secretary of Commerce and National Telecommunications and Information Administrator. From the beginning, FTI has been endowed with expertise at the highest-level of policy formulation and regulatory practice, particularly in the areas of spectrum management, market competition, and network infrastructure development. In addition, Freedom Technologies has always had both a national and global focus, advising clients not only on U.S. issues, but also international trends and developments in telecommunications and IT.

Location

In addition to its role as a national and international center for policy development, Washington, DC, is a growing locus of high-technology activity. The national capital area is home to more than 12,000 high-tech companies and more technology workers than any other region. As a result, Washington is at the junction of business, technology and government, where the decisions are made today that will drive the global economy tomorrow.
